'Quick access' Windows 10 Sketchup 2019
-
Hi All,
In SU2019, when I want to import or export anything, explorer pops up and Quick Access doesn't have any files under it. on pressing the arrow down nothing happens apart from the cursor wheel grinds its inevitable way to nowhere....Any Help?

When you installed SketchUp 2019, did you right click on the downloaded installer file and select Run as administrator?

Hi Dave.... Sorry, Thats a Detail I can't remember. Is there something i can do to tell us if i did or not?

No. But you can reinstall SketchUp making sure you do it.
Quit out of SketchUp and LayOut if they are open. Find the installer which is most likely in your Downloads folder. If you didn't install the recently published maintenance release, download and use it. Right click on the installer, select Run as administrator from the context menu. A window should pop up with some options including Repair and Uninstall. Select Repair and let it run.
When programs are installed in Windows 10 without that, weird unexpected things happen and it may be this is one of them.
After repairing the installation, power the computer off completely so you can do a cold reboot, too.

Thanks Dave - will do...... I'd just got my all my toolbars in the right place! nevermind the quick access is vital.
I haven't been on Sketchucation recently - nice to see its as helpful as ever.... cheers

Repair won't change your toolbars, plugins etc...

Box beat me to it but he's right. Repair won't change your toolbars.
Hopefully this is the fix. If it is a SketchUp issue, correct installation is most likely going to fix it. If it doesn't, I'd be looking at Windows settings instead. No matter what, correctly installing programs is definitely a good idea.
