      Hello

I am looking for a new PC for professional use (really intensive) as Decoration Agency.

Here is the configuration proposed :

      1 Intel Xeon Silver 4116 (2,1GHz, 3GHz Turbo, 12C, cache 16Mo, 9,6GT/s 2UPI, HT, 85W),
      mémoire DDR4 2400MHz
      1 Precision 7920 Tower Chassis
      1 32Go (2x16Go) de mémoire DDR4 2666MHz RDIMM ECC 9 Aucun disque dur
      1 Disque 512Go SSD SATA Classe 20 2,5"
1 Integrated Intel AHCI SATA chipset controller (8x 6.0Gb/s), SW RAID 0,1,5,10
      1 Thermal Heatsink CPU0, 7920 Tower
      1 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, DP, HDMI, DL-DVI (7X20T)

What do you think about this proposal? The graphic card is good?

Thank you in advance for your precious help

      Best regards

      Guillaume

I am by no means a computer expert, but do have a little advise for you.

I recently got an NVMe 960 Pro M.2 Hardrive. This plugs straight into your motherboard and speeds up the save / autosave and updating Layout files a lot! I would highly recommend it.

I also have the same graphics card as you and love it. Just make sure you have a decent power supply to run it. I had to upgrade to a 750w to run it as when pushed to the max it would crash the computer. Sketchup won't push it to the max, but programs like Lumion will.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

Better get a higher clocked CPU. 3 GHz turbo is very low and SU needs a high single core speed, since it only uses one core. A 12-core processor makes absolutely no sense for SU. Only if you plan to use this as a render machine. And then a higher clockspeed would still be preferable. Is it only for SU or are you using a renderer?
There is no need to take a Xeon. An i7/i9 would be the better choice i think.
And the GTX 1080... unless you're into GPU rendering i would say you can go with a GTX 1060 or 1070. The CPU power will be more important for SU (the single core speed).
And yes, get a M.2 NVMe SSD.
