So I am fully aware that I am putting my ignorance on display right not, but I have been unable to figure out how to install the Wood Grain Long - 2 extension. I am using Sketchup Pro 2018, and when I attempt to make a "New Texture" in the materials I can find the collection of extensions but I can select them to install. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

And just to clarify...the extension is the new Long Grain Materials for Sketchup!

          It's not an Extension.
It's a Collection of Materials [with textures], supplied in a ZIP format.
Extract the ZIP and you'll get a folder of SKM files [i.e. SketchUp Materials].
Place that folder into your preferred user-Materials folder, so that you can see it in the Materials Browser.
On a MAC you might need to create that folder if your have never saved Collections of Materials out of SketchUp...
Do NOT try and add them to the 'shipped' set...
As on a PC, perhaps your SketchUp Preferences will give the default Materials folder path ?
Perhaps an experienced MAC user can help with more details...
I expect it's something like a hidden folder in:
          /Users/UserName/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2018/SketchUp/Materials

Outstanding! I apologize for the delayed response, but I am just now able to return to this project. That did the trick! I am using a Mac, but your educated guess was spot on. Thank you, Tig, for the detailed help.
