Default template and trays
-
Always keen to get the latest, I've got Sketchup 2018 and changed the default template and set up my trays as I like them. No offense to Stacy but she's the first thing I changed. The trouble is she keeps coming back and my arrangement of trays is no where to be seen. I went File>Save as Template with 'Set as Default Template' ticked but Stacy still comes back next time I start Sketchup.
Any ideas?

This sounds like an installation problem. When you installed it did you right click on the installer and select Run as administrator? Or did you just double click on the installer to make it run?
-
That sounds about right Dave, they say ignorance can kill. Can it be corrected or should I re-install?

Make sure SketchUp is closed Find the installer file you downloaded and right click on it. Choose Run as administrator. You should be presented with some options. Choose Repair. Let it run. After repairing the installation, see if you can save your custom default template.
By the way, I normally open the previous version of SketchUp to my default template and immediate save it out to a place I can find easily. Then I open that file in the newer version and immediately use Save as template.

Good on you Dave, you're a gem, that fixed it, now it does what I want it to and the trays remain.

Perfect! And thank you.

Dave R, I tried this and i still didn't get my custom template and toolbars.

@djh I saw in a different post of yours that one must reboot. Now, it works - I open with my custom toolbar and trays.
