Not sure how to explain this, but I'll try. I have a x=400mm by y=400mm by by z=10mm thick section I have stretched to 1400 mm in the z axis. When I try to move this section adjacent to another section the whole 1400 mm moves over to where I want it. Then I click and it instantly shrinks back into the 10mm section I extruded but it is exactly where I want the whole section to be. I undo move and it pops back to its starting point and expands back to 1400mm. Anyone got any ideas about what is goong on?

How about sharing the SKP file so we have some hope of deciphering your description.

It looks to me like ypu have a dynamic component constrained to scale and perhaps position too.

Thanks for the comments. When I selected the "end" of the 1400mm rod and moved it to the new location it worked. Not sure why all of a sudden it worked but I will take it.
