      Did you try it?

Downloaded the trial and going to import a model I did for a Lumion presentation to compare the differences. Hopefully, I will have time to start on it today.

Actually before it did crash I was quite impressed, the user interface is simple and materials quick to use. Didnt get chance to export images/video but I will give it another try.

I tried it for 30min. IMO great user interface and easy to use with all you need to populate context...but quality of images is not enough. It is good for games though.

To be fair though, neither Twinmotion nor Lumion are really going to be used for 2D images, they are animation creation software. Its cheaper to buy a Vray licence if you want superior 2D images, Twinmotion/Lumion are not trying to compete with them there.

                    I don't agree.

Realtime rendering is evolving and with a bit of extra post-pro you can achieve the same quality already. Specially if you're not striving for photorealism as the ultimate goal.

If you do you can still take a look at Unity, Unreal, Frostbyte, etc, improvements in Global Illumination. It still does not have the same quality but it's getting very near.

The real deal breaker for us SU users is UV unwrapping of a SU model, and the export import process, specially if it's a complex model.

Lumion and Twinmotion take care of that, but GI quality is still not that great. Furthermore material systems seem limited and the objects are still too low poly. That's why Twinmotion seemed such great news.

I'm feeling I'll move into that direction in due time.

Well I had another play with it. Import errors on models, still crashes after a while, and pretty poor 2d exports means I will give this version a miss. Lumion is still a superior product. Really was hoping for better things with it now it is using Unreal.

I raised this during the beta but was ignored. Last time I'll waste my time testing for Abvent.

Agree, what's the point in beta testing something that is not going to change in spite of errors.

I'm disappointed to hear this Rich, another example of Sketchup being ignored. A lot of their pre-release videos were ArchiCAD and Autodesk Revit based, I kept having to ask if they were still going to support Sketchup but never got much of a response.
