I have a Vectorworks model that has hundreds of components, when importing into SU they are all unique, I am needing a plugin that can analyze all components and consolidate them so that they are all the same, so I can edit one and they all update.

I believe there is something out there but cannot remember it.

I know of the method where you convert loose geometry to groups then run Thomthom group to component.

This only works when the grouped geometry is the same.

Your scenario is already wrapped as a component. So it is not something I think there is a tool for?

What file format did the VectorWorks file export?

I know .DAE exports can respect Object Instances so SketchUp can read in these as Components.

If you use Thomthoms tool then you need to explode all similar components. Then Loose to Group them and the Group to Component them

Download the free D'oh Book for SketchUp 📖

Perhaps it is ThomThom's component comparison?

Nothing is worthless, it can always be used as a bad example.
