Create guide points
-
Hi,
I'm having trouble creating guide points in Sketchup 2017 (MacOs).I have a plane and would like to draw guide points in the vertical directions. These guide point's I want to use to create a mesh with TopoShaper from Fredo's plugin.
But when I try to create the guide points I only get infinit guide lines.
Does anyone know of a workaround or how to create guide points this way?
/Stefan

You don't need a "work around"; you just need to use the tool correctly.. You'll get infinite guidelines if you are referencing off an edge, an axis or another guideline. To get a guidepoint with the tape measure. So you'd need to start from an intersection or existing guidepoint.
What information do you have about the locations of these points? Do you have 3D coordinates? If so, you could create a point cloud from a list of coordinates. There are a variety of tools to assist with that. Search for 'point cloud' here.
btw, perhaps you could update your profile. It indicates you are using SU8 Pro on Windows.

You can draw guide point with "Draw Along" tool from Fredo6 Tools plugin, you can lock them vertically.

Do it with lines, and then use TIGs C-point at vertex plugin to generate points at endpoints
