Locking inference in LayOut
-
When using the Ctrl key to copy/move an object, is there anyway to orthogonally lock the inference - especially on a crowded drawing? Or am I limited to copy/paste-in-place and then move it with the shift key engaged? Grid snap is off and object snap is on.

When copying and while ctrl is depressed....also press shift key. (to lock vert/horiz)
This doesn't work perfectly all the time, but does maintain a good degree of vert/horiz position.Perhaps you mean a skewed angle when you say orthogonally?

Thanks. Your recommendation appears to work. To answer YOUR question - I did mean perpendicularity when I said orthogonally.

I could have given more detail in my original reply.
Orthoganally can certainly mean at "right angles" (of or involving right angles).
So obviously you could have objects at right angles of one another yet not aligned with LO vert./horiz. grid.So locking shift while trying to copy/move off of non vert/horiz.....but at right angles(not aligned to grid) proves difficult.
Now I think I have accomplished an over explanation that may prove to confuse.
