Any smokers here? Wanna quit?

eLeaf do nice starter kits.

I started with this and then moved up from there.
The biggest stumbling block in the beginning for me was finding the right juice. Once I got it I never looked back.
If you have a Vape Shop nearby you should go for a poke around.

What's the juice you're using Rich?

I use a fruity flavour. I tried tobacco to begin with but found them kind of disgusting.
I get mine locally in Ireland. It's called Vampire Kiss and it is a Raspberry, Strawberry and Menthol mix.
I don't want to blow plumes of vapour so this suits me. Most shops let you sample flavours before you buy.

Best advice I can give is to take a trip you your closest Vape store and hopefully there will be someone there that will give you good info like in my case. I was initially intimidated by all the jargon and complicated setups that some folks kept harping on about only to find they represented a small niche of the vape market like hot rod builders are for the car industry, most normal folk just want a Toyota Corolla that is efficient and reliable.
The good thing about visiting a vape store is you get to sample liquids before buying, so allocate a little time to play and learn.
I'll be 4 years cigarette free very soon.

Same here. The guy in the shop warned me, but I didn't believe him.
I learned really fast tobacco doesn't actually taste good.

Well done guys!
Got this thing recently, but not had much chance to use as the stock coil just keeps spurting in my mouth! The actual build quality feels great though, just need to sort out the weird coil. It's called an Ego Aio.
I like really compact devices where the tank is adjacent to the battery. I had a Kanger Nebox but the quality is terrible. The Billet Box V4 looks cool too.

I haven't had time to go to a vape place yet, so I picked up one of these Vuse e cigs https://prod.vusevapor.com/products/vibe I tried two different flavors today.
I was doing a Home Show today and went 7 hours without a cig! Can't believe I did that!
but, the Vuse gave me a big hit at the back of the throat, and made me cough after each hit, something regular cigs don't do.
is that how most vapes are? Or is it this brand I tried?
I am stoked I went 7 hours!

Well done Joe. You need to get yourself a variable voltage/wattage mod. Then you can adjust the throat hit to your taste. In the meantime take smaller puffs!

!It's also because of the liquid. If you use a liquid with higher VG ratio then it will be silky smooth.
Something like a 70/30 VG/PG will be just perfect for you. It's the PG that gives the throat hit. You are probably vaping a 50/50 mixture.
PG gives throat hit and helps carry flavour. VG creates the clouds and has some sweetness, but produces almost no throat hit. So; more VG= more clouds. More PG = more throat hit.
Some flavours also produce more throat hit; pineapple, menthol and citrus liquids are always a bit harsher on the throat. Just choose what you personally enjoy. I like some throat hit whereas some people don't.

I've also cut down my vaping a bit but not ready to totally quit yet.

In the beginning I'd vape a tank and two batteries a day, today I probably fill a tank once a week and cannot remember when last I switched my battery for a charged one. I now go out without a vape some days I get to afternoon before realizing I have not vaped that day (that's when I start craving)
I'm guessing by years end I will be completely done.

Not that sort of throat hit Rich!

Started vaping last week so the journey begins. I've smoked cigarettes for 45+ years and it's kind of cool when I only smoke one cigarette during a 12-hour shift. That's usually 1 1/2 packs. My boss has been vaping for a couple of years and lent me one of his mods. Even bought me a new tank. Nice guy.
I ordered all kind of new goodies. Like a kid in a candy store. Best part is that they have already paid for themselves. Hope this works out like it has for a lot of you guys.

4 years cigarette free.

think i'm closing in on 2 years this july.
never want to smoke again
-
2 years last Tuesday. 12mg nicotine. About 15mls per week.
-
4 years this month, 1.2mg nicotine. I'm thinking about quitting vaping as well. I hate cigarette smoke now, it makes me sick, literally.

Guys, check this site out, http://abillionlives.com
I just watched the documentary and it looks like Govs, Big Pharma and the tobacco industry is winning the battle to have vaping products banned in the US and heavily taxed in the EU.
I'm going to quit cigs when my current supply of rolling tobacco runs out, probably in a week or so. I doubt vaping products will be banned in Ireland but I have no doubt the Gov would be more than willing to go along with heavily taxing the juice .... bastards!
