      Hello

I see in some search examples that under View>Toolbars there is an arrow that produces a drop down of tool bar options including a 'Save Toolbar Position". Make 2016 (on my computer running Windows 7) does not have that. I have View>Toolbars with three dots after toolbars sot aht when you click it you get a dialogue box with a Toolbars and Options tabs, neither of which have a save position choice. Has this been eliminated or moved elsewhere?

      Thx much.

The Save Toolbar thing you refer to is not relevant in newer versions of SketchUp and doesn't exist. Show the toolbars you want and place them as desired. When you close SketchUp, their positions will be saved automatically.

They changed the way toolbars are managed from the old days so that their positions are retained even if you resize the drawing window space. In the old days, resizing the window would move the toolbars but they wouldn't go back when you restored the window. Saving the positions was a way to recover their positions after they'd gotten messed up.

Thanks. I don't know why it didn't save before but it did this time. Maybe the way I opened it.

Unfortunately Dave SU 2016 save indeed the toolbar position of most of the tools but it doesn't load automatically all the tools/plugins used previously. They are no more selected in Tools Views and I must re-select them after each new start. BTW I use iMac OSX 10.11.6

The discussion was referring to Windows, not Mac.

Your problem sounds like an issue with a .plist.

I'm using SU 2017, and my toolbars are not saving after restarting Sketchup. Is there a reason that this problem is occurring, and is there are workaround?

There's always a reason for everything. You don't give any information about your computer or its operating system so a fix is difficult to offer. Maybe a reinstall is in order. You don't need a workaround. The toolbars should stay in place on their own. It's an incredibly rare thing to have toolbars moving on their own since SU2013 so there's something about your system that needs sorting.
