Text box don't show area?
-
Hello there. I'm a beginner at this.
But there is something I can't figure out.
When I import a drawing of a floor plan I use the scale on the drawing so I can measure the area of rooms. Works fine. I then usually use the A1 text box and the text automatically show me the area.
Then I save the .skp file. But when I reopen the file next day to continue my work and then mark the area with the text box it won't automatically show the area. It just say "enter text"
Why? When I mark an area with the arrow I can see the area (m2) in Entity info. I want the text box to show the area automatically. What do I do wrong?
Take care!

In order to get an area, you have to be clicking on a face. You won't get an area if you are clicking on an edge, a group or component. If you were to share the SKP file, we could probably give you an exact answer.

I click the area/face. It works fine when the worksheet is new. But after I saved it and reopened it it doesn't work any more.

Please upload the file here directly using the Upload Attachment tab below the message window.

Here it is
As you can see I've managed to let the text box show the area of each room. But when I open the file after saving it says "enter text".
Btw, thanks for helping me out Dave

Put the plan image on it's own layer and turn off that layer and it will work.
What is happening is the text tool is referencing the image rather than the geometry. -
Box beat me to it and of course he's right.
You're welcome for the help, too.
