Ionic Volute

Hi there,
I am trying to draw an ascending ionic volute to model after a certain mantle I am building. But I am a beginner at sketch up.....I haven't been able to find any resource to help aid me.
This video is basically what I am looking to do, but its on rhino.
This is the mantle I am modeling

You can make a profile and do follow me along a path. The leaves you can draw with arcs pulls pull and offset.
