Freeze or inactivate layer_SU2016

Something like Freeze or Lock Layer does exist in SketchupPro2016? Not only Visible or Hide? Or how to organize what I don't need to work with, but need to see, inactive? It is quite confusing to work without this possibility.

It sounds like you have a misunderstanding of layers in SketchUp. Layers do only one thing. They control visibility. They do not provide separation so there's no value in being able to lock them. Even if you could, it wouldn't prevent editing the entities associated with the locked layer. You can lock components and groups so they can't be edited.

By the way, make sure you leave Layer 0 active at all times and leave all edges and faces on Layer 0. Only make layer associations for components and groups.

Select all of the imported geometry and group it. Then, right click on it and choose Lock. It can't be any more of a trifle than that.

maybe is it a misunderstanding of the principle of layering in the SU, which is different from Autocad. But I want to clarify these some details how it can work efficiently former user AC:
I need to lock up and still see the underlying drawing, which imports and then no more to edit. I cannot find anywhere how to do the procedure, even though it is perhaps a trifle.
Or, how to lock jpg map if doesn't exist this option in entity info palette? Make a group? As an only one object it can be too a group?
