Physical model render?

I'm looking to create a rendering that looks like it is a photo of a 3D hand-made model in either cardboard or styrofoam.
Has anyone done this in Sketchup with vRay?

I did this to send to the landscape architect for fun, but I didn't pursue making it look like real materials (real paper or setting) or model materials like foam board. Sort of the same feeling. -

In the VRay render options (global switches), you can choose to override materials with the color of your choice.
