Stretch with array
-
Greetings!
I was wondering if it is possible to stretch a solid group or component that has perforated slots, in such a way that the slots would copy along the stretch path as an array?
i.e.
I have the first solid
and i want to extend it while keeping the array of holes.Thank you in advance.

you might look into "Dynamic Components".

Oh and I don't know how you can make that as a "solid". Either it has holes (which is not solid) or it's a solid shape but with hole cutting components in it, which also won't qualify.

I don't think you could make it as a Dynamic Component AND have it as a solid. Does the result have to be a solid? How many different lengths do you need and how often would you need to change the length? It would be easy enough to make a library of components that are sized in increments as needed. You could make a bunch of different lengths in a few minutes and add more when you need them. You could also make them easily swappable in case of design changes.

A ruby plugin could do this - but it is fairly involved. Could you post model so we could take a look at it.

Make a component of two half holes, hide the relevant edges and array them to the lengths you want.

What Box said. And if you need solid components you can make them from the array.
