Construction line Missing

Dear Gurus out there,
I have a problem with construction line getting missing and unable to work my measuring tool after that. This usually happened after nearly completed a big model. Do anyone out there experienced this kind of problem ?
Hope to get some feed back from someone who has this experience and a solution.

Is it possible you are turning them off in the View menu or you're using a style that has them turned off? Are you really still using SketchUp 7?
