Thanks, that looks like a good site. I found others that didn't seem to explain it all.

I found it interesting that network licenses costs almost twice as much PER SEAT than single user, to upgrade. Wonder what the advantage is to pay so much more.

that probably has more to do with reseller margin bargaining power than price paid at the till...

Network licences can be used to as much as a zillion users with the same licence. Single user licences are single user licences.

              Network licences only drawbacks are:
              Costier
No two users can use the same licence at the same time.

How do I see where I am at with the yearly sub. and 30 days late means another fine!

You can't see it and i think this is done intentionally. There is simply no way to be so dumb to overlook this point when you set up a subscription model... and even more so after two years of testing.
I missed the point and now i will wait until the time equals the penalty! - so i think i will upgrade a few months later this time - or maybe not, depending on the new features...

Retrieving your SketchUp Pro license information
To retrieve your SketchUp Pro license information, please note the steps below. Please be aware if you purchased your license through a reseller, we recommend contacting the reseller to retrieve the license.

Add "sketchupmail@sketchup.com" to your email contacts list.
Go to our Resend license page. If you no longer have your serial number, you can Retrieve it instead.
Enter your most recent serial number. If you still have SketchUp Pro installed, you can find this number by browsing to Help (SketchUp on a Mac) > License > License Info.
Click the "Resend" link. The license will be resent to the email address associated with the license.
Tip: If you don't receive an email with your license, please check your email's Spam or Junk folders.

and as mentioned before, it's not a subscription model...

Call it what you want. It works like the old Autodesk subscription model and i don't care that they are now using this term for leasing. The point is that you have to pay a penalty if you miss the point and they are not mentioning the date in the program. I could be so easy...

Sorry for the late reply... The answer might be simple but I think it still matters:

                            • You probably should buy standard licences for all.

However if your office really has a zillion colaborators, you should talk directly to trimble, I'm pretty sure they will give you a discount...

yeah, I hear you, I got my love-letter reminding me that my maintenance & support will be expiring soon, so soon that it is 8 almost 9 weeks from the expiry, that's 2 months, that's 1/6th of the period...

talk about making sure the money keeps rolling in...

That is nothing. I used to have a Nat Geo subscription and they started telling me my subscription period was running out one month after I paid for it, and kept 'reminding' me every three to four weeks. Needless to say I no longer have a nat geo subscription and they have agreed not to bother me.

yep, so I renewed subscription the day before the maintenance expired, let's see what gets delivered over the next year...

Another thing to consider is that some plugin authors are going to add new features for SU 2016 and forward. This has to do with the change in security.

Some unscrupulous individuals have been opening RBS files and taking code that doesn't belong to them. Trimble added a new encryption strategy to protect plugin authors IP. I'm pretty sure they realized their own sales potential over this.

At least old versions of SU will still work with old versions of the plugins (minus enhancements and bug fixes).
