      Hello,

what's the best way to import a dwg floor plan inside my layout set of drawings?
I tryed plottin the floor plan from autocad to pdf, but my layout won't import pdfs (I know mac does), I then opened in gimp the pdf exporting the pdf to png (@ 600 dpi), but when I place the image inside LO, the resolution is low, and the plan looks bluerred.

      Can any one help please?
am I doing it the right way?
I am almost thinking of exporting the title block, and manage the floor plans with Illustrator!!

      Cheers

      Dan

        If you're using pro:
import dwg into sketchup -> make scene with imported lines -> open layout -> insert scene

          Thanks,

what about linetypes, texts and colors? Will I loose everything whilst importing my dwg in sketchup?

I'm afraid you will loose most, if not all, of that stuff. Lets hope in the next release something is done about that.

I wouldn't expect full dwg support anytime soon--which would give you a good facsimile of the dwg file. There are too many factors to consider. PDF import for Windows should be provided. It really is great for Mac. You can change the pdf source file and it can easily be updated in LO.

I believe win 10 has native PDF support, however I'm not ready to migrate yet, so we'll have to wait to find out from someone who has...

There is no way to import text and line tepe, color. But...
We can import dwg to LayOut via SketchUp scene with style.
Then we can get vector and bitmap from imported SketchUp model, so you can change line type, color with LayOut way.

                  1. Set the imported SketchUp model (scene) to Hybrid or Vector. (Window menu - SketchUp model)
                  2. Right crick imported SketchUp model and select 'explode' and 'ungroup'
