Add Location/Geo location Issue
-
Hi there
I have been trying to Add a location and the geolocate the near by models in order to add some architecture to the sight to aid in a mock up of a project.
The problem I am getting is that the building that are on the add location screen are NOT viewed from directly above but from an angle. Therefore when I locate a particular building the foot print is in the right place but there is the rest of the building off at an angle to one side. The taller the building the worse the problem.
I am using an area of canary wharf in London England and the main tower number 1 Canada square is giving me particular issues. There arent any options in the add location screen do anything about this.
No idea what to do the tutorial online makes it look so easy and i'm struggeling.
Many thanks
Izzy

'Add Location ...' uses Google Earth's imagery.
Can't you take a screenshot of that specific part, "Canary Wharf Group", from Google Maps and partially paste it over the imported location from Google Earth? Google Maps lets you hover right over the building to get it centered with a much better footprint.

I see exactly what yo mean take the image from google maps past it over the geo-location so gives me the exact locations of the buildings. Could you possibly explain what you mean by "partially paste" is that a different thing from normal paste.

I see how my choice of words may have confused you. I just meant "paste the center part of the image of the screenshot", only the part that shows the correct building(s) without perspective, i.e. in and near the center. For all the other buildings not close to the center also do show unwanted perspective over their footprints.
