I am using the most recent version of vray for SketchUp 2015-64 bit. I have a vismat collection. The problem I’m getting is, while the vismats import correctly, however when I apply them, they get applied as a pitch black colour in SketchUp. Interestingly they render perfectly as they should be in the render but in the live SketchUp workflow, they show up as pitch black. This is happening with all vismats. 😞

      Sketchup Make 2017 (64-bit), Vray 4.0 , Windows 10 – 64 bit, corei7-8750H, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB

Well, it seems that problems with textures in black comes routes textures, so if I download a vismat or vrmat, importing the material sought textures in the folder where it was originally created, not where it is now housed and therefore is not for sketchup. If found to vray. I could try a version x32 and this problem does not exist.

Well, I found a way out of this. I have to reload the diffuse layer for every vismat to make it work. It is indeed a problem solver but very tedious. There must be some smart solution for the problem. I download vismats from internet.

not sure where you're downloading them from, but try some of the vrmats that are on the chaosgroup website. There's also V-Ray Express for SketchUp available for download on our site, which comes with a large material library, studio environments, lights, hdr images, everything you need to get up and running quickly.

Those materials are definitely not very recent. We changed the extension of our material format to .vrmat sometime in the past year or two. We changed from a binary to xml based format about 4 years ago also, which caused some compatibility issues. There were huge archives of user made materials being passed around, before our own material library grew to the size it is today, it's possible that these older materials are from before our switch to xml.

                  Hi,
I'm having trouble with the materials I've downloaded from your website.
When applied to geometry they display black and all the texture seems to be pointing to "C:\Users\fpedrogo\Documents\V-Ray Materials"

Plus where can you download VRay express for SU?

                  Thanks
                  Carlo
