LAYOUT HANGS UP ON ZOOMING

I'm having trouble with my current Layout file hanging up (lagging) when I zoom in and out in the paper space. It is a similar delay to when the file auto-saves but is unrelated to that function, I checked. I tried turning off the auto render function for viewports but that didn't seem to help either. I have not had this problem with other files on the computer I am working on, so I assume its not hardware related. Can someone help troubleshoot? Thanks!

If you haven't had the problem with other files, I would start removing the references in the problem LO file to see if it's one of them.
