Components not visible when I import from 3D Warehouse

Hello! I'm sure this is a total newbie question but I can't find an answer on help or google
I'm trying to import a model of a toilet from 3D warehouse and after the import bar completes and I am prompted to place the component I can't see it stuck to my cursor like I'm supposed to (I think). If I click to place I can see the axis but not the model itself. Also the 2D man Steve has disappeared! I only have one layer so it's not that a layer is turned off...
Where's the thing I need to click to show components?

Post a link to the toilet. It sounds to me as if the toilet is much larger than the rest of your model. Try placing the toilet and then hit Zoom Extents. What happens?
It isn't unusual to find components in the 3DWH that are scaled incorrectly. Some users don't understand how to correct the scale on components they may have modeled at a larger scale. Anyone can load any SketchUp component to the 3D Warehouse no matter the quality of the component so what you get can be less than the best.
