Strange results using "Follow me" function
-
Please post the SU file. What "profile" did you use in the follow me? FollowMe is not perfect but could give you the result you want, depending on the situation.
Check angle with the protractor (same as hand-drawing). (Edge color by axis style would work in this case.) -
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Attached are the two files
Getting90degConstruct shows the 90ยบ arc (Follow Me path)
Getting90deg2 shows the result. In the meantime I figured out that I can connect the end points to where they should be; easy if it's a simple shape like this one, a bit more work if the face/profile has a lot of points.
Regards
HJ
PS On another note; I would like to add my Sig, but can't find the sig box in the UCP. Any tips? Thanks!

This is the typical SketchUp problem with tools that are supposed to be following an arc or curve. It's because SU treats it like segments. You drew the arc shape as well as can be done, but notice the last segments (representing the arc) are not really at 90deg. Use segments beyond the arc that are truly square--and aligned to your initial direction-- to begin and end the FM operation, adjust the shape afterwards as needed (such as pushpull the ending leg back to the arc, if that's what you wanted.)
Click the heading at the top of the comments "Settings" That takes you to the User Control Panel (UCP) there's tab: "Edit Signature".

As Peter says, Follow me works better when you extend the profile. For example you'll get better results following a full circle and removing half than using a half circle profile.
Here's a quick rework of your model.

I forgot to ask Box to make a movie--and save myself some time.

Thank you very much, Gentlemen!

Yes, there are a lot of miracles working behind the scene in this forum to make things like these happen

It's great that most folks understand how to deal with this issue but IMO the failure to handle an arc on its own is still a bug that the SU team should fix.
