I can never get my toolbars how I want them. Making toolbars through the SU customize allows you to make a toolbar with any tools available. However, you cannot put in dividing/separating lines as they cannot be selected to drag over. The Jf_custom Tools allows separating lines, but not all tools are available to that plugin. Anyway to get both?

Right click on the toolbar as you are customizing it and select start group to put in a divider.

        Box has got you there.

I use a mix of Jim's Custom Toolbar and Aerilius' Toolbar Editor. and the SCF Powerbar. shhhh I'm not supposed to be using it anymore. It breaks things. But I don't care... i love it and I won't give it up.

          Hi,
I have figured out how to put a divider in but when I drag a toolbar button over I am not able to insert the button below the new group divider. The button inserts further up into the toolbar in a position that is of little use.
Also, I'm using the default 'Large Toolbar' because this seems to be the only toolbar that will remain two columns wide. I have tried creating my own toolbars but when pinned to the left of the screen they will only stick in one column.
After all this time I would have expected a more professional and user friendly way of customizing toolbars.
So my question is:- Am I missing something and being unfair in my assessment?
          Many thanks,

My opinion is that you are being unfair. Make two separate single column toolbars and place them side by side on the left. The benefit of having separate bars is that you can more easily customize each column of tools. If you had a two column toolbar like you want, and an odd number of tools, you wind up with dead space somewhere. With two separate toolbars, you can avoid that empty space.

As for the dividers, put the divider between icons. Don't put it at the end of a toolbar.

I left the dividers out because for me they are a waste of screen real estate.

As far as I can see, the toolbar arrangement now is great. I've eliminated tools I never use from the toolbars freeing up space for more tools that I do use. The window can be resized without scrambling the toolbars and I never have the toolbar issues I had with the older versions. I think this is a more professional way to deal with the toolbars and the tools on them.

              Thank you David,
I accept what you say. I will try single columns. The dividers can be a waste of valuable space but when used with 2 columns wide they can be useful for grouping commands IMO.
              Kind regards,
              Andrew
