There is a reset button in Preferences.
      Might be different on Mac.

        Thanks

when I reset it clears the shortcuts. I pressed reset and lost everything. Pressing reset now does nothing.

        any ideas?

        thanks

The reset button is to put it back to factory defaults which you did and which is why there's no further change when you click on it again. You could look for the shortcuts plist but it was probably overwritten when you hit the button.

It should be under your ~User/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2013/SketchUp

Sorry, I misread your question and thought you wanted to go to default.

As Box says, it won't be the same as yours. In any case, here's mine from SU2013. You can change the extension back to .plist and drop it into the folder. See what happens.

It would be best to make your own again and then perhaps make a copy of the plist and save it somewhere else.

Thank you. I appreciate they are different but it gives me a good starting point.

                    thanks again for the help

Interesting. So is it possible to edit the file and write it back? This would be a big improvement. I really don't understand why there still only is this tiny, confusing scroll window. And the export/import never worked for me - in v8, i have to try it in 2014.

The plist file we've been talking about is a Mac thing. You could find the .dat file that SketchUp on Windows generates and edit that. Probably the easiest thing is to use the filter option in the Shortcuts window instead of scrolling through the small scroll window.
