Save part of scenes
-
Hi
Maybe I am just to stupid How do I save some parts (wich I have selected) of a Scene as a new skp file? -
I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, mainly because you are talking about scenes, but....if you have selected certain parts of a model and want them in a new file,
Go to the edit menu, select copy, open a second instance of sketchup and go to the edit menu and select Paste in place. -
Thanks, thats is exacly what I am trying to do and I did allready like this. I just missed a Dialog like "saving selected objects as skp file". Or exporting as 3d skp file is also not there (with submenue "only selected objects").

If the selected objects are components, you can save each of them as separate SKP files by right clicking and choosing Save as... Or you could make a nested component containing the objects you're interested in and again use Context>Save as... Or, if the objects are components and you want to save them separately, you could drag their thumbnails from the In Model components library to a desired local folder in the Components window. None of those options work, though, if you are using groups instead of components.
