Would you suggest your career to your children?
-
I saw this question in an explanation of "Architects Are Facing A Silent War" over at a website I found tonight called Architect's Marketing. He had asked the same question and was shocked at the replies... Myself, being a 2nd generation building designer, this was of interest to me. My mother had said the same thing to me... That she never expected me to follow her into this line of work and if I would have asked, she would have dissuaded me...
I always thought I would be a famous football player, a fighter pilot or an architectural designer. We all know how that ended up.
Would you encourage your children to follow in your footsteps? Why or why not?
-
There should be another option of no preference.
-
I think if I add another option it will restart the poll won't it?
-
Yep
-
Personally I think I would encourage whatever they chose to follow themselves.
If that is same as either parent then that's fine with me.
Ideally my kids will play rugby for Ireland and dominate the rugby world.
But there are all under 6 so I've awhile yet before I even begin to understand what kinda characters they'll be.
As long as they're happy I am.
-
That's a good father...
-
I would second the neutral option.
-
Ok... I'll restart the poll.
-
it's not me to decide, but i wish that he follow the way for art
-
I never considered myself an artist, but I suppose I am somewhat.

It seems "Anything, as long as they're happy." is in the lead with 7 votes followed by No with 5 and a close third is Yes with 4.
