Now that I am working a few days with the seperate installed SU 14 I discovered few bad issues. Most of them regard plugins that worked well in 13 but wont do it in 14. That alone is reason enough to wait before trashing the earlier version.
Really bad is the crash of Nvidia which will terminate SU 14 instantly. It occurs when shade is applied with a large drawing. Since the same drawing is doing fine in SU13 I wonder, what the reason might be. After looking into the crash report from Nvidia is says that the application is asking to much of the GPU. I cannot really fathom how a Quadro 4000 wont do the job!Even after a restart of the machine SU14 is absoltely solely running, I have no trouble reproducing the crash. However, there is no problem with it in SU 13.

      Time to think better?

The fact it runs well in V2013 doesn't say much. Trimble makes 'under the hood changes' all the time and those changes can have side effects for some of us.

I guess you have already tried:

        • update the drivers
        • check the openGL settings in Sketchup 2014, test several capabilities (preferences-openGl).

I don't remember well but isn't a quadro more suited for 2d cad work (drivers etc) instead of 3d? Maybe someone else has a clue...

          I also use a Quadro 4000.
Great graphics card that reads well the "polygonal".
I have not noticed a malfunction with SU 2014, but you should
to inform the support of Trimble.
