Control over zoom when switching between 2-pt and perspectiv

I detailed the frustration in this post and it doesn't seem like there is a work around:

This means that every time I switch between the two I have to zoom all the way back into the location I was working. At some points in my workflow this is very annoying. I hope there is a way to control this in a future release (pretty please)
