file size? poly count? can you navigate the model in wireframe mode? can you navigate the model with textures removed? have you imported lots of models into your scene?

you shouldn't have to export and import again.
The file size is 47.3Mb and i dont know about the poly counts, i dont know how to find that.. and yes i can navigate it but its still slow..i havent removed any textures only because it takes ages so long to only take one texture off and i have many, i have alot of windows imported and doors and people and furniture basically, the model is big... i actually exported and imported many times 😞... did i mess up alot?

Well you need to systematically remove parts of your model to see what is causing the problem. Sometimes all it takes are a few imported high-poly models to completely freeze your whole model space. I also recommend running a purge or using the Purge plugin.

You tell me πŸ˜† . I'm not saying it's textures, it could be models that you have imported that are causing the problem.

Once you delete some imported objects, purge your file. You can also just download a plugin that purges your whole file in a couple of clicks. Below is the manual way.

              (sites.google.com)

If your model is still slow after you've deleted your imported objects, see if the textures are to blame.

ok well i did as u said and i unchecked everything and checked them again one by one to see where the slowness is coming from... and finally i realised that the amount of doors i have and people is crazy they really made it extreme slow for me, but the design alone without the doors and people still slow.. so i imported the 3ds file into rhino, and its just crazy every line is meshed, so im gonna go back to sketch up and will follow these steps in the link u sent.. u still havent told me what the purge is?

πŸ˜† Just read the purge link I shared. Purging removes unused components, materials etc from your model. why are you importing into rhino, I don't get it?

You must delete geometry, not just hide it. If you're hiding objects they are still in your model. If you delete components one by one and purge, you'll find whatever is slowing down your model.

bed time, others will be along to help I'm sure and i'll help out tomorrow too.

are all your chairs and imported furniture components? Have you tried deleting parts of your model to see what's causing the problem? This is the only way to determine what's causing the stickiness. It is quite a large model, but no reason why it can't run smoothly with proper use of components and layering.

After looking at your images, I would start by removing all the imported components like the chairs etc. I have said a few times imported components can be VERY heavy poly. In your theatre there are loads of imported chairs that could be slowing things down. I'm not saying that's the only problem but start there.

Have you actually tried deleting parts of your model, then PURGING it, then seeing if it's any quicker? This is the only way to see what is causing the problem.

If your project is due in a couple of days and you have an unworkable model, then keep it simple to get your point across.

A component is like a block in CAD. You can copy and past a component a hundred times and it doesn't increase file size. If you don't use components, the file size can increase dramatically. If you make a change to one component, it will affect all the same components.
