Importing Objects
-
Hi everybody :
Is there any site, other than 3D Warehouse that has compatible objects that will work with SU8 ? I tried downloading a few objects from a couple different sites, but they weren't compatible with SU8. And 3D Warehouse is limited in what is available. I thought 3DS objects would be compatible. garystan

FYI: My version of SU 8 free shows 3ds importer, post URL and I'll give it a try from the site.

Here's the site I tried. The objects are "supposed" to be in .3ds format. But, SU8 can't open them. **[highlight=#ff0040:3fhi4zmq]www.archibase.net[/highlight:3fhi4zmq]** garystan

The chances of me selecting the one ( s) you tried is slim to none. Can you be more specific?

Sorry I didn't reply to you sooner. I now realized that I've been going about it the wrong way. After downloading the .3ds file. Instead of just trying to OPEN it with SU8, I IMPORT it into SU8. Most of them, though, I have to uncheck EDGES under EDGE STYLE to get rid of all those "lines". And I'm pretty much good to go. Sorry about the confusion. Another lesson learned. Most of the time, I like to create my own objects. But, other times, I like to take a "shortcut". Thanks for your help. I'd say, "someday I'll return the favor", but you're the knowledgeable one here. Well, I guess I can help someone else out the best that I can. Again.....thanks. garystan

I just posted a couple of my renderings of my projects. Most of the items in these projects I created myself. Other items, I downloaded...and added them. garystan
