A five minute doodle during lunch. I think I spent more time screwing around with the style than drawing it.
"Constructivist chair--an homage to De Stijl--by noted Dutch architect Piet Blom (1934-99). Made by Huizenga for the cafeteria of the Faculty Club (nicknamed The Bastille) at the University of Twente, a 1968 Blom project. Of an edition of 400 or so, fewer than 200 survived a renovation. Only a handful retain their original paint." -

As for sources, there are a number of websites that show used furniture for sale. I like looking at what they are selling because I sometimes get design element ideas for projects I design for several of my clients. For them I'm not just "designing" something that already exists but I'm pulling ideas for later use. When a piece of furniture strikes my fancy I'll give it a go in SketchUp. This chair was really a quickie while I ate my lunch.

Knowing how people tend to kick their legs back under a chair, those vertical pieces in the front must have been uncomfortable. He must have gone to the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Furniture Design

I know what you mean. I frequently sit that way, too. It is only about 8 inches across the front, though, so it wouldn't be difficult to put your feet on either side. After I get a few other things done like my boat in the water for the summer (if that ever comes) I might build one to see how it sits.
I could see a low backed version of it, too.
