I have been looking around to print a larger scale model with my printer and i came across this link.

      favicon

is there a way to do this as well in sketchup or use a plugin? or will i have to scale the object and manually add the cut line?

      thanks for the help.

It should be easy manually with the use a few plugins:

        1. scale object
        2. use Zorro plugin to cut the object in parts
        3. heal the sectioncuts (by hand or Makefaces plugin) so the parts become solids again
        4. export stl

Welcome to the forum, Andrew! πŸ˜„

As an addition to what kaas says, it looks like you're using Pro, so you can use the Split function of the Solid Tools and a dummy cutting cube to cut up your model, something like this:

The model is attached if you want a closer look.

Here's the link to the Zorro plugin if you're not using Pro.

Tig's Slicer5 might work for this.
