Multiple users

Hello everyone,
I am changing religion...I am teaching and using AutoCAd for over 20 years ans I am planning to switch to SketchUP. But I figure out that I might have a huge problem...my students (in Theater Design) will eventually have to work all together to conceive and generate all the drawings (conceptual and construction drawings)for a Set design.
Could multiple users work on a single sketchup model at the same time from separate computers? If not, how can we proceed to generate the Conceptual drawings and the construction drawings by a class of 15 students?
Thank you,
Katerine

Hello Katerine,
Have you seen the xref manager plugin? http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323%26amp;t=7329
I think it should solve your problem.greetings, Max

Dear Max,
It sounds very similar to X-ref with AutoCAD. I look forward to test it.
Merci beaucoup!Katerine

FYI, I am developing a plugin that does just this - not just xref, but editing one file between several users at the same time. I should have a vision to test in a mon or so. In the meantime, watch this space:

this can be done with the standard sketchup system too... you can split a model into components and then have a folder where the components are stored. you'll need to be strict with checkout of the components or have them assigned to certain individuals though. then the large project model can have the components updated to show revisions or changes.
Though I'm sure the plugins will help greatly in this arena.
