Textures in Basic Sketch-up 8
-
How do I draw simple shapes in Layout-8 and apply whatever textures are available in the basic program? I look at the "Shape Style" tray and it's all Greek to me.
I don't know how to use plug-ins and don't have the time to figure it out right now, so any help utilizing the basic program will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Calvin,
Welcome to SCF...
I understand that you're fairly new to both SU and LO...
From the posts you've made so far, I must admit that the questions you ask are very basic and simple...May I suggest that you - as a minimum - take a look at some of the basic video tutorials before posting questions about basic functionalities...
You can also find some great tutorials here at SCF...
This will also mean that you don't need to wait before someone eventually post an answer to your question...

So you want to have a shape in LayOut with a material from SketchUp? Probably the easiest way is to draw the shape in SketchUp 8, apply the material image you want and send it to LayOut 3. If you would upgrade to SketchUp and LayOut 2014 you would be able to apply raster image fills directly in LayOut but that feature hadn't been developed for LayOut 3. You could then export the texture image from SketchUp and bring that into LayOut.
