My apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm not even sure what to look for.

      Here's the issue.

I have a model of a building done. I then open a new blank sketchup file, create a piece of furniture, locating it at the initial axis in the blank window. I make this furniture piece a component, and I then right click and 'save as' in a library folder of other furniture.

I then go into the building model, open the components window, find my new furniture model, and click on it.

If I do this from 3D warehouse, the newly imported item is 'glued' to the cursor and goes wherever I move the it until I click. However, when I do it with the item I've created, the building model goes into what appears to be Zoom Extents, and the furniture item simply gets dropped into the building model at a location outside and above.

Obviously I have done something during the creation of the component to make it drop to a predetermined location instead of attaching itself to the mouse cursor for placement, but I have no idea what.

If I can provide screenshots to help clarify, please let me know.

      Thank-you.

This has indeed been covered before but unles you knew what to look for, it would be hard to find. The problem is the components you are making are geo-located. Don't do that and they'll behave correctly.
