Sketchup 8 select tool very slow in win8.1, help!

Hi Guys, I'm having issues with Sketchup 8 on my new Win 8.1 Machine, so far the only big issue is the select tool. It will be very slow selecting parts of an object and it will show 2 or three select windows before it finally finishes, and usually it will select other parts of the object I don't want selected. Can anyone help? Is there a patch or plugin to fix this issue? Thanks.

Okay I think I've resolved the issue, the selecting is not 100% but after installing a new APU driver from DELL I am able to use the select tool quite a bit better than before!
