Why to import a google earth image into sketchup?
-
Hi,
Why sometimes we need to import the image from google earth into sketchup? Is that used for its terrain? But I suppose if we want to draw a terrain analysis image, it seems the most convenient way is to draw the contour from a CAD file and produce a terrain in sketchup.
So what the purpose to get image from google earch into sketchup?
Thank you~

When you use "Add location", you import a map and terrain from Google Maps. At the same time, the coordinates are saved with your model.
This is a convenient way to attach the coordinates to the model, but if you don't need the terrain you can delete it. If you have a more precise terrain you can use that. Users can write plugins to use other tools for geo-referencing.
