SketchUp to Rhino to OBJ workflow?
-
I'm trying to get a few SketchUp models exported obj files. I'm importing my skp to Rhino and then exporting the obj from Rhino. The models are coming in to Rhino nicely but still have alot of unnecessary triangulation, and sometimes strangely shaded faces. Dose anybody have any experience with this method or have any suggestions for tutorials or resources?
Thanks,
Lars

You have also possibility to use this free prog (by Michael Gibson creator of Rhino / Moi)
to transform an OBJ File in 3dm format (Rhino / Moi)!
(advices above previous post stay valuable for first cleaning OBJ file! )You can choice to create one line for each edge without double, and also create a close polyline for each plane face!
It's only structure so...
Just surfacing at the end inside Rhino : Moi !(I don't know if it's better than the Importer obj of Rhino)

Try to export to Blender (A, A, Remove Double see this anthology post) or Wings3D all free for easily cleaning your OBJ polygon mesh before exporting in OBJ format for Rhino!
And also try for the fun Moment of Inspiration who is some ergonomic than Rhino
you can make Copy Past : ctrl + c, Ctrl + v between the 2 applications (Moi Rhino, Rhino Moi)
And Moi has an export SKP !
And the best export Nurbs to Polygons if wanted!
And an new exceptional export PDF!
