Dear Sir,
I m new to sketchup and my job needs to use sketchup to have interior design. My computer config is E5 Xeon 4650 x 2, supermicro motherboard, 32G Ram ECC, 256 G SSD, 1TB harddisk. gigabyte GTX660.. My problem is that when I import a 3ds files to sketchup. I cannot pan and orbit it easily.. Can I just upgrade the workstation card to improve it.. If ok, I will import many 3ds files for render. Vray 1.6 for sketchup. I dont know about 3dmax program. Please help.

As far as I know Sketchup lacks when you have big files and your setting,I think, is all you can give to Sketchup to perform at its best .

I believe the graphics card won't make much difference in sketchup.
I have two virtually identical computers - I running with a K4000, the other with a GTX680. Both perform equally well with sketchup.
My understanding is that CPU speed (which you have) is the key thing for sketchup, and of course optimising your models to reduce complexity. T -
Don't spend that much money on a card unless you're into other software like 3DMax or something to that effect. Get a GTX580, a GTX670 or a GTX770 for around $350 and you'll do wonders.

I couldn't wait for all of you to reply
I bought one K4000 to test. The result is a little bit faster . It is fine, I will learn 3dmax soon. I hope this card can help... The rendering speed is better.I need to test more and give u a report on it..
thank you for all of you opinion.!
Thank you
