Text and Leader Help
-
Hello all.
Relatively new to Layout 2013 and I'm having some difficulty placing text and leaders.
I've opted to set up my Sketchup Scene on an individual layer that I can lock so I can more easily manipulate items on the sheet without accidentally grabbing the view port.
What I've noticed is that once I create and lock said layer all text and leaders are sent under my view port graphic by default. And even when I unlock the view port layer it is impossible for me to bring the text over the view port graphic and or send the graphic under the text.... What am I missing here? How do I change this behavior?
Also, how do I change the default text to something other than 'Verdana' for leaders?
Thanks in advance for any help!

All you have to do is make a layer above the one on which your viewports are placed and add your text and leaders on that layer. Unlike in SketchUp where layer order doesn't matter, in LayOut the order of the layer list is important.
I have my templates set up so the SU viewports go on layers quite low in the list. Dimensions, hatches, labels and other text and dashed lines go on layers higher up in the list.
As to changing the text, it depends upon the OS. On PC you can change the font in the Text Style inspector window. On Mac you can get to the Font window most easily by right clicking on the text.
