How do I determine the floor plan area of a building model? I can use entity info to get the area of a single entity, but that's not practical for the whole building.

You could draw a line around all exterior edges to create a face.

This is something I had to do today. Make either a group or a component of the floor plan. Then, trace over the perimeter till a face is formed. That way, the traceover does not become part of the plan and it can be queried with entity info. You can then select your trace and either delete it or keep it around, make it a group/component if you wish.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.
