Try this (you may be lucky):

      1. reveal hidden geometry and position the texture on one facet
      2. sample the positioned material from this facet (Alt+Paint tool)
      3. hide hidden geometry (now all your curved wall can be selected with a single click) and apply the sampled (and positioned) material onto the whole surface.

As for painting groups: of course it does not work. Please, have a look at this tutorial.

        Thank you for you help.

I tried what you suggested but it didn't work. I tried something else. I selected the edges of the faces and from the soften menu i chose soften coplanar and the wall became a surface where I can apply the texture.

Do I lose something from this choice or is it ok?

Thank you for your quick reply again πŸ˜„

Well, if it works, you only lose a couple of hours of frustrating work. πŸ˜„

Unfortunately it didn't work for all surfaces.

As you see in the screenshot, some surfaces are being softened and I can apply my texture on them but some other have this blurring effect, because they consist of many smaller surfaces.

Any suggestions? I am thinking to start over and work as crazy until Friday when is my deadline. I really need some help with this one. 😞

If I were you I would redraw the walls with fewer edges/faces. As you say, the walls you've got have already made your model quite heavy and as you add textures it will only get heavier. This is likely to cause you more problems that just applying materials to those walls as you go. I think the time spent correcting the model will be worth it in reduced time spent adding materials and making repairs and so on.

One of these was drawn with the default 12-segment arc. The other is 200 segments. Is the 200 sided one really all that much smoother than the 12?

Even with textures and shadows I don't think there's enough difference to show.

My problem with arcs that have 12 segments was that i couldn't align the walls with the floor and roof, and i thought that it would be better if i had a lot more segments.

Thank you although. Hope I will be ready till deadline...

It doesn't have to be 12 sides. I'm sure you could find a something in the middle, though.

I can not find a "texture" tool on any of my tool-bars.
I'm trying to re size and expand a paver texture that I downloaded
but when it comes to right clicking on the image to get the "pins",
I have no "texture" tool to work with.
I have Sketchup 2013 on a PC with windows xp.
Thanks for any help. It's very frustrating not to be able to follow videos
that try and explain how to do something.

Please forgive me. I just discovered that the item I want to work on can not be a group. I exploded the group, and "vuwala"..... the texture tool appeared in the toolbar.
It helps to listen closely to podcasts!!

It sounds to me as if you've applied the material to a group or component instead of the faces and/or you're selecting more than one face.

Edit: You beat me to it. πŸ˜‰
