Artlantis 5
-
Hi, this is my first post here, and im from Portugal, so sorry for any bad english
Anyone here uses Artlantis? I have used it for years, but i just downloaded the new Artlantis 5 demo, and i have to say that i am very dissapointed...
-
Is it just me (because i was so used to the old interface) or is the new interface a mess? What i loved in Artlantis' previous versions was the ease of use and simple but intuitive interface, and now its gone, as an attempt to look more like Maxwell or Thea...
-
With all the new animated tabs and buttons, i also think its slower to work with
-
Rendering, although not comparable to VRay or Maxwell or others, has been one of the fastest and the one with the best ratio of speed vs. quality, IMHO
But all the tests i did, version 5 is slower, and in most cases took twice the time as in version 4...
So, has anyone here tested Artlantis 5? If so, any thoughts?

HI XONPT
We both have the same experience with ATL and V5 is truly disappointing.
Yes, slower to render and the interface is very messy and hard to use.
Also navigating is sticky and freezes on me after using a short time.
I have used ATL off and on since V2 and V4.1 is just fine for quick and almost PR output. You are right on with your observations sorry to say.
Keep your money for the nonce.dtr

i forgot to share some pictures of the tests i did
dont mind the model or the quality of the renders, because it's not mine, i just downloaded the model from the internet for quick rendering tests...

There is a new update. It's a lil bit better than the original v5. Still buggy, but I'm getting familiar with menus & icons. Editing wise it is much better than v4. Took me about 3 to 4 days to re learn the user interface.

i know... i tried the last update also
still slower to render than v.4 and still slow and buggy in the interface tabs
i've decided to make the switch to a new render engine, but im still testing them all
looking for speed + quality + good performance on my old pc
vray 2.0 is in the pole position right now...
