Missing Pages
-
I just lost multiple pages for a Construction Document set running LayOut V 3.0.3161
I am afraid to redo all of the work and pages only to have it happen again. I will post the error message but essentially this is what it says:
"Missing Pages- Some pages in this document are missing, but LayOut may be able to recover the rest of the document. You may want to revert to a previous backup if something important has been lost.
The previous backup copy is also corrupt.
Am i going to have create a separate Layout folder for each page of my construction set? This could be a deal breaker I'm afraid.

Was your document entirely created in 3.0? There was a bunch of file corruption bugs fixed in 3.0.
If you initially created the doc in 2.1 it may have had some corrupted items that 3.0 catches
and cleans up. But cleaning up may cause pages/entities to be lost. -

Just had this problem myself. The original file probably got started in LO 1.0 or thereabouts but I've been editing it continuously for what, 100 years? Seems like it anyway.
Whilst doing a lot of editing on a particular page the rest of the document quietly disappeared; no bugsplat or other notification. All that happened was that what I tried to move to different page it did nothing. The page list was still there.Fortunately TimeMachine saved me and I was able to copy/paste the still-there worked on page contents to the recovered file.
I have the damaged file should anyone want it.

I am starting to think that until bugs like this, the locked pages, and pdf export issues get resolved, it may be the safer bet to create separate layout files for individual sheets. It seems those particular files that I have such as a detail sheet with multiple model references don't have any issues. All my files with multiple pages end up with some sort of issue.

I haven't had any issues with lost pages or PDF exports with LO3. It seems to be a whole lot more stable than LO2 was for me.
