Bentley pointools POD cloud files to sketchup
-
Hello
I read that this plugin was discontinued.
Is there any other options to get POD, LAS or xyz cloud files into sketchup?Yes, i know the cloud plugin and I have used it but it reads only asc, txt.
So what would be the best option?

Seems there is x,y,z here
and some format at exports compatible with Su! -
the Pointools plugin was discontinued at the start of 2013.
if you can import TXT or ASC, and you have an XYZ format file - just change the extension to ASC or TXT. they are only ascii text formats.

Yep, i'm now importing (triangulating) a house which has over 200 000 points, is it always this slow?
If you have tried Bentley Pointools software, it's very fast to use but it's shame that there's no proper editing options. I have the trial now.
It merges the LAS files and I can export XYZ file out, but importing to sketchup is pain in the butt (cloudv8).
Is there a faster way with other software?
Can you give examples, if you have cloud format, which software you use to manage it?Importing to meshlab is not always working.
Thanks in advance guys!

Best advice I've had is using the Cloudv8 plugin, but as you've said it's not nearly as fast as what the pointools plugin was.
Can you let me know what you think is the best way?
Thanks in advance
