Remove Derrick materials from Template

Derrick has a nice story behind him and all but his materials load into vray even if I have deleted him and saved that as a default template. I have to remove every single of his materials from vray material editor every time I start a new skp file.
This has probably been answered.. I looked for the solution but could not find it..

Delete him from the drawing window and then go to Window>Model Info>Statisitics. Click on Purge Unused.
