      Hi,

I would like to make the next one :

I have a big component with some others smaller components inside
and I would like to fusion all small components inside for making one and final component

I cannot break it and remake a new component because it's to gib and my pc cannot afford to break it, no more memory etc...
the other issue us that, if I break it the basis component will stay in my component files and I cannot erase them (the ''erase'' tip is simply enabled.. strange)

      thanks

If I understand you correctly, you have a large, nested component containing a number of components and you want to have only the large component. This is simple to do. Open the nested component for editing, select all of the internal components, choose Explode from the Context or Edit menu. When they are all exploded, close the large component. After you have done that you should be able to Purge Unused components unless those same components are used somewhere else in the model. If you are worried that your computer won't handle exploding all the components at once, select and explode only a few of them at a time.

Can you explode them one at a time?

How big is your SketchUp file?

Try this. Save your SketchUp file. Select and delete everything outside this big component. Purge unused components and save the file using File>Save as... Give it a different name so you don't replace the original. Then try exploding the components inside your big component, purge as above and save again.

Go back to the original SketchUp model and delete the big component with its contents. Purge unused. Then you should be able to copy the big component from the second SKP and use Edit>Paste in Place to paste it into the original file.

If your file is 150 Mb I can see why you have so much problem with it.

Is it possible to purge anything that is unused? go to Window>Model Info>Statistics and click on the Purge Unused button. Does that reduce the file size?

Were you unable to use Save as... to save a copy of the file? Did you try deleting everything but the big component you are working on?

I am saving as all component in a new file now
and try to purge them sololy for see what is done
perhaps my buildings are to big
but when I did the purge in my actual 150mo file, it took me some parts of some components
so, purging is not a good idea in this case

There is something wrong with your file if purging unused removes components that are in the model space.
