Locking a sketchup file

I have quick question, can a file be lock so I can safely sent it to someoneAndrew

Unfortunately not.
There are ways of viewing them but you have to get third party software.
For example 3D PDFs.

if you go to 32:50 on the video you will hear about Trimble's 'SketchUp Showcase' and when available it seem you can upload your model and receive an embed tag to post to any web page that will enable the user to only navigate your model and nothing more.
